You just can't live in Texas, if you don't have a lot o' soul

The world has much to give, a little while we live

'Watch your husbands ladies, cause here's Annette Hanshaw, with a complexion like peaches, a voice like smooth honey'. Excruciatingly shy, she hated her own voice, ending most recordings with 'That's all...'

In the wake of Australia Post

And a sweet little fuck you to the mime culture of music television in the 60's.

If you're lonely, you don't have to be lonely...

This is Jodie Foster at the ripe old age of 13, playing the delightful Tallulah in the genius film that is Bugsy Malone (1976). A few good rules to live by:
My first rule of thumb
I don't say where I'm going
Or where I'm coming from
I try to leave a little reputation behind me
So if you really need to
You'll know how to find me

I live till I die
I'll take what you give me
And I won't ask why
I've made a lot of friends
In some exotic places
I don't remember names
But I remember faces

Bye-Ron

Was up in Byron at the end of last year and stumbled upon these clicks on a random site.

Soul matters.

THE LOVED ONE

For those of you who ain't heard one of the greatest Australian tunes of all time 'The Loved One' by The Loved Ones, a Melbourne band formed in 1965, named after the Evelyn Waugh book of the same title. The signature hand claps were put in to keep the audience (who were accustomed to 'Easy Listening' records, which were oh so popular at the time) following the song. They were one of the first pop groups at the time to use Keyboard (Farfisa?) in their regular line-up. This classic is from their Blueberry Hill EP.

That's all folks...
